Fireworks Fishing Tournament Schedule
Friday, July 11th, 2008
6:00pm – 7:00pm Captain’s Registration: Fripp Island Marina.
Entry fee for this event is $250.00 (including 4 Caps) per boat for up to four people. Each additional person is $60.00
After Registration: Captain’s Meeting and Lowcountry Cookout, 7:00pm
Cookout sponsored by Sea Island Marine & Bobby Cooler
A representative from each boat must attend this meeting.
Saturday, July 12th
Sunrise – 5:00pm, Fish Day! All fish must be weighed at the Fripp Island Marina
Check Out -Honor system. Boats can leave at any time. Captains are on the honor system to ensure that lines are not in the water earlier than sunrise (time to be announced at Captain’s Meeting).
*Small craft warnings issued at 6:00am on Fish Day will automatically cancel tournament*
Fishing - Fish must be caught within the tournament hours using a rod and reel with a maximum of six lines in the water at one time. No fixed lines or electrical reels may be used to land fish. Downriggers are to be used as line carriers only. Planers are allowed
If there is a tie, the winner will be determined by the earliest weigh-in time. The decision of the Rules Committee is final.
Mutilated or improperly iced fish will be disqualified, take plenty of ice.
Any protest must be submitted to the Rules Committee in writing before 5:00pm on the day of the tournament or by the conclusion of the fish weigh-in.
Awards & Prizes - 90% Payout of entries.
Awards for the 1st and 2nd Place Largest King
1st Place for Largest Wahoo, Dolphin and Spanish
Check-In
All registered boats must check in properly, even if they do not want to weigh fish. This can be done visually at the weigh-in, by radio on Channel 12 or by calling the Fripp Island Marina at 838-1517. Any boat not properly checked in will be disqualified and must assume responsibility for expenses incurred if a search begins.
Weigh-In
All boats wishing to weigh-in fish must arrive at Fripp Island Marina by water before 5:00pm or be disqualified. Fish to be weighed –in must be represented by a member of the boat’s crew.
Tournament Rules
All boats must have a properly working VHF Radio with Channel 12. Channel 12 will be the tournament frequency.
